Sinomenine is a natural product isolated from the roots of the climbing plant Sinomenium acutum and possesses strong anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity.
The analgesic affect includes various types of neuralgia, including acute and chronic low back pain. Repeated administration of Sinomenine does not generate tolerance, but increases the baseline pain threshold. Sinomenine is a rare anti-inflammatory and analgesic substance that acts on both peripheral and central nervous systems.
Iporuru (Alchornea castaneifolia) is well known to the indigenous peoples of Peru for pain relieving properties and in aiding flexibility and range of motion. Iproruru also possesses anti-inflammatory properties. The anti-inflammatory properties of iporuru are attributed to a group of alkaloids. Basic research demonstrates the anti-inflammatory activity of iporuru relies on its ability to inhibit cyclooxigenase (COX) enzymes responsible for mediating inflammation.
Devil’s claw also known as Harpagophytum procumbens is a weedy perennial herb. Devil’s claw extract possesses analgesic, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. It inhibits various mediators of inflammation including COX-2, iNOS and suppresses translocation on nuclear factor kappaB (NF-κB).
NOTE: This extract is a potent histamine releaser. Anecdotal evidence suggests hives, itchiness, and flushing as potential effects. To prevent this, we recommend taking Forskolin at the same time
