Detox Aid is a tincture containing proprietary mixture of alcohol extracts from Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), Manayupa (Desmodium ascendens), and Boldo Leaf (Peumus boldus).
Peumus boldus has many biologically active chemicals. However, most of the biological activity of the plant has been attributed to a single alkaloid called boldine.
Clinical studies showed that boldine protects the liver, stimulates the production of bile in the liver, as well as stimulates digestion, increases the secretion of gastric juices and stimulates the production of bile and its secretion from the gallbladder. Also, boldine has demonstrated diuretic, fever reducing, and anti-inflammatory properties as well as the ability to reduce excess uric acid.
